The school has been very busy as students have been enjoying year-end activities, wrapping up final culminating work, and preparing for secondary exams. </span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">As a staff, we couldn't be more proud of the growth that we have seen in our students over the course of the year. June is always a special month as we have multiple opportunities to celebrate the wide variety of ways that our students have excelled, and we are certainly looking forward to celebrating our grade 8 and 12 students at their respective upcoming graduation ceremonies next week.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">We sincerely hope that all students enjoy the last few days of the school year, and wish our secondary students best of luck on their exams. Mr. Czermak has been a part of the GREC and LOLPS community for the last seven years, and has not only made a positive difference in the lives of many students and families, but has been a strong advocate for the north. We will definitely miss Mr. Czermak and know that Enterprise PS is very lucky to have him. </span><br></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">With the departure of Mr. Czermak, we say WELCOME to Mr. McCullough as our new Vice Principal. Mr. McCullough has worked at both Sharbot Lake HS and NAEC in the past, and is coming to us most recently from Bayridge Secondary School. Mr. McCullough brings with him a strong background in special education and will definitely continue to be a strong advocate for our school and students. We are excited to have Mr. McCullough join us at GREC!</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><br><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">And last, but certainly not least, we are wishing a CONGRATULATIONS and goodbye to Ms. Pratt, who is retiring in June this year! Ms. Pratt has been teaching in LDSB since 2006, having taught at LaSalle Secondary, Sydenham High School, Ernestown Secondary, LCVI, and GREC over the course of her career. In all sites, she has left a positive mark, and at GREC, we have benefitted greatly from her dedication to teaching, commitment to mental health, and interest in bringing student art work to the forefront of the school and greater community. Wishing Ms. Pratt all the best in her retirement - we know you will continue to give back to the world as you move into this next chapter.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><br></p><hr><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><br></p><h2 class="editor-heading-h2"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Secondary Examinations</span></h2><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Grade 12 students started examinations on June 16th and 17th. All remaining secondary examinations will take place June 18th onward (schedule shown below). </span><i><b><strong class="editor-text-bold editor-text-italic" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">All students are reminded that they need to return textbooks AND laptops by their last exam date.</strong></b></i></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">A reminder to all secondary students: </strong></b></p><ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> Students should not be riding the bus or attending school on exam days unless they have a scheduled exam. The only exception to this is:</strong></b><ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">they are a student who has made arrangements to meet with a teacher</span></li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">They are a student who has outstanding work. If no students sign up for any given day, the bus will be cancelled.</span></li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Students who remain at school for the afternoon and do not take an early bus must be in the library for quiet study. This process includes staffing, timetables and new registrations. Our planning also addresses next years’ class placements.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" style="text-align: start;"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The creation of classes is a very complex task that takes into account many factors. When determining placements for next year we consider learning and academic needs, emotional and social needs, and class size to name a few.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" style="text-align: start;"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">We recognize that, in a few individual cases, there may be important reasons why a specific placement is necessary. If your student has a prevalent medical condition, please take the time to fill out the appropriate form below and return the form to the school. Forms must be updated annually so that the school is aware of changes to plans.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">If your student requires daily medications, these should NOT be carried in backpacks, but rather stored in the main office. We ask that you notify your student's teacher (Elementary; note, email) or the main office (Secondary) about changes to regular routines ahead of time wherever possible. If there are unforeseen changes, please notify the office </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">before 1:30pm</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">. <p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Dear Families,</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">As we move towards the last week of the 2025-2026 school year, I want to share a few important updates and reminders as we wrap up the year and begin looking ahead to September.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">2026-2027 School Year Budget</strong></b><br><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">At last night’s Regular Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the Limestone District School Board’s 2026-2027 budget, prepared in accordance with Public Sector Accounting Board standards. The motion directs the Chair to write to the Ministry of Education, the Minister of Education, the Premier, local MPPs, OPBSA, CODE, and union partners, requesting additional funding to support the hiring of more frontline staff and will highlight that Limestone annually spends approximately $10 million beyond provincial funding to support special education.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Reminder: P.A. Day – Friday, June 26, 2026</strong></b><br><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">A reminder to families that Friday, June 26 is a P.A.
