Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day Service
On November 8th, National Aboriginal Veterans Day, staff, students and community members gathered in the cafeteria to take part in this year's Remembrance Day Service.

Those in attendance were presented with a variety of Remembrance Day tributes. These included a student tableaux performance, poems written and read by some of Mr. Gilbertson's grade 6/7 students, a violin and piano musical performance by Jessica Wedden and Mrs. Michie, as well as, letters read by Mr. Leonard's grade 10 Canadian history class. The Young Choristers and kindergarten class performed a song with Mrs. Michie, before Veteran Vernon Crawford and students laid wreaths.

Staff, students, and community members stood for the playing of The Last Post before our two minutes of silence.

Special thanks go to members of the Canadian Royal Legion Branch 425, the community members that took time out of their day to attend, as well as, the staff and students that took part in organizing and performing the service.

The service was a respectful way to honour those who have served our country and who continue to serve today.
