We hope that each of you remain healthy and were able to enjoy the holiday despite restrictions due to COVID-19. In an effort to minimize contacts, a return to in person learning is not able to occur at this time, instead we are required to proceed with Virtual Learning.

During the Virtual Learning period until January 25, 2021, GREC Secondary students will shift their schedules so that they attend two classes on alternating days as explained below. This shift will allow for more flexibility for students/families and better opportunity for students to focus their efforts.

Please note that this schedule will begin on Wednesday, January 6. Teachers will continue to be in contact with students on Tuesday, January 5, as needed to ensure that students have the technology they require or to answer any questions as students continue to learn at home.

On Wednesday, January 6, teachers will share their daily class schedules with students. Please note, students are expected to work on their courses, and not all learning will require them to be on online the entire time.

Monday and Wednesday:
8:20 - 11:00 - period 1
12:00 - 2:40 - period 3

Tuesday and Thursday:
8:20 - 11:00 - period 2
12:00 - 2:40 - period 4

8:20 -11:00 - periods 1 and 2 (Office Hours/Student check-in, Follow-up, Small Group Meetings)
12:00 - 2:40 - periods 3 and 4 (Office Hours/Student check-in, Follow-up, Small Group Meetings)

Teachers will post further information and instructions on the class platform (D2L, Google) and will be available for support or questions during the scheduled times.

Please check the classroom online platform regularly so that you do not miss any work. Teachers and students will use times allocated on Friday for check-ins and follow-up as needed.

If you require a device and have not been contacted to arrange for pick up, please contact the school ASAP to make arrangements.

Thank you for your continued support as we respond to COVID-19 restrictions. If you have any questions, please contact the school at any time.

Happy New Year.

Ms. Yanch, Principal
Ms. Stevens, Vice Principal
